MATLAB is a high level language and it is basically used for performing computation, visualization and developing applications. MATLAB contains many mathematical functions and they are used for linear algebra, statistics, numerical integration, fourier analysis and also useful to solve differential equations. And MATLAB contains built-in graphics within it which enables us to visualize data.

The core math functions use processor-optimized libraries for faster execution of vector and matric calculations. We can use several methods for numeric computations.

During data analysis and visualization, we can acquire the data from files, databases and external drives. We can read data of any file formats. It may be excel, visual, image or sound. And we can also share the complete reports in the form of plots.

Whereas in programming and development session, MATLAB development tools like command window, MATLAB Editor, Code Analyzer and MATLAB profiler are used. While deploying the application developed, MATLAB production Server and MATLAB coder are used effectively. Hence considering the extensive features of MATLAB, students use it to develop various applications for their Final Year Projects.

Basics of Robotics

Posted: February 14, 2014 in Robotics

ImageRobot is a mechanical device which can perform various human tasks by its own automatically or through remote control. Robotics is the study of robot technology and the applications of robots. People know that it can be operated remotely and the term which represents it is Telerobotics.

There are three laws of robotics which is proposed by Asimov.

  • First law depicts that a robot should not harm a human being through inactions.
  • Second law is a robot should obey the rules ordered by human beings.
  • Third law is a robot must protect its own presence.

A robot is able to sense the speech, vision, temperature, touch, light, sound, position and acceleration. And it is designed in such a way to plan a task effectively, classify plans, learn and motion planning. Robots are used for different applications in space missions, medical science, and bomb disposal. Students design and develop Robotics based Final Year Projects during their graduation and implement new concepts to identify underwater and volcano exploration.

ImageA student faces a great challenge during his or her end of graduation. Because he needs to complete a final year project and must submit Final Year Project Report to the staff. Thus a student must have good knowledge on how to prepare a project report.

Project Contents

The project report must include the following information in order:-

  • Project Title
  • Full name of the student
  • Name of your guide
  • Logo
  • College name and place
  • Year of submission

Students are required to include certificate page, declaration, acknowledgement, abstract and much other information in their project report. Body of the project is very important. It must contain details about project title, literature review, methodology, project analysis and design, project summary and finally conclusion.

A student should prepare a project report by covering all the above details in a standard project document format. Report must be prepared in English language. Paper must be a plain white A4 size paper. Use always word processors for typing the content. And font size must be 12 and font style is Times New Roman. Always do hard bound  and take print in high quality laser printers and one side prints.
